When you’re planning a vacation to the Orlando area, the resort choices can be completely overwhelming, especially since both Disney and Universal have onsite resorts at a variety of price points. But they’re still expensive, especially for large(r) families like ours, and even moving up to a suite ($$$$), there’s not really enough room for all of us. Enter Reunion Resort and their amazing collection of luxury condominiums, private villas, and vacation homes. Plus they’re only about twenty minutes from all of the Orlando theme park fun!
A huge thanks to Reunion Resort for hosting us- we received a complimentary stay but all opinions are honest and my own.
Clouds were looming overhead as we pulled up but that didn’t curb the kids’ excitement when they finally realized we were staying in a HOUSE and not going to be cramped in a regular hotel room! I ran inside to take a few pictures before they (inevitably) made a mess so that I could show you the amazingness of the Reunion Resort vacation homes.
And as soon as I walked in the front door, I KNEW we were going to have a fantastic time at Reunion Resort. The kitchen was roomy enough to cook for our family and it was so well equipped! I honestly cannot think of a single item that they didn’t have on-hand that I could have needed because they literally had EVERYTHING- even a waffle maker!
The backyard featured a built-in barbecue that I so wish we had the time to use, plenty of seating, a tv, and most importantly, a PRIVATE pool! I rarely let the kids go to the pool unsupervised when we’re staying in a hotel because of crowds, safety, etc, but with a pool in the backyard, I had no problem letting them swim and watching through the window (note: most of our kids are teens/pre-teens and they’re all excellent swimmers. Don’t let small children swim unsupervised!!).
The master bedroom was so calming and peaceful, and a wonderful reprieve from our busy Orlando days- and the noise of our kids!
And the bathroom, oh my gosh, I want this bathroom for my house!! With a separate tub and (huge) shower, double sinks, and a separate potty room, it was perfection!
Upstairs, there was a queen bedroom with a full bath, and Christopher quickly claimed that for himself. This room was duplicated downstairs as well- a great choice if you’re traveling with someone that can’t handle the stairs!
The pool table in the loft area upstairs was definitely a favorite with our crew and they played MANY games of pool during our stay!
The themed bedrooms were undoubtedly the favorite part of the house for our kids. The attention to detail was phenomenal and the girls couldn’t get over how cool it was to sleep in the Millenium Falcon. Now, not all of the Reunion Resort vacation homes have themed bedrooms, but many do and that information is all included on the individual listings.
Nick and Ben (our resident Potterheads) were in disbelief when they saw the Harry Potter themed room, and even though they’re big Star Wars fans, they quickly claimed this one because what could be cooler than sleeping on the Hogwarts Express?!
Many of the vacation homes at Reunion Resorts feature media rooms; some have theater-style seating whereas others have a more traditional couch/chair seating arrangement. If you have a preference, make sure to look through all of the pictures that are provided for each property before you book!
And last but certainly not least, we had an air hockey table and foosball in the downstairs media room- the kids played and played and played with these two our whole stay! I’ve even heard requests that we buy game tables as their Christmas gifts!!
I’ll be sharing more about our stay at Reunion Resort later on this week but I wanted to make sure that you had a quick tour of everything our vacation home offered.
